Everyone at birth has the potential to become an addict, depending on genetics, lifestyle, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), peers, etc.

 

We use the same brain areas, neurotransmitters and the same unconscious brain pathways if we are addicted to drugs or exercise.

 

The brain subconsciously seeks habits to conserve energy and survive.
