Parents, don't dismiss the importance of your input in the outcome of your child. The first six years of their lives is mostly under your control as well as their experiences. These experiences form the basis of their personality and habits which they will carry through life.
Don't fade away during their teen years, thinking that age 18 is a mature adult. The brain is not "mostly" mature until the late twenties. A CHILD entering college is not mature and still needs guidelines and help from parents, or else parents will be abdicate this role to a child's peers.
